A Look Back on A Summer of Online Events

Today we would like to take a look back at our virtual events across summer 2021. And what a summer it has been!

We’ve had quizzes of all different varieties, from general knowledge to a film-themed music quiz from Connie to testing our Jaffa Cake knowledge in our taster session back in July. We’ve also had a lot of bingo! Congratulations to the winners!

Scott Reid has helped keep us in shape as well as keeping everyone motivated for completing the Go the Distance Challenge back in July. 

Mathias gave us a tour of Bruges and told us all about its sight, stories and traditions. It was also discovered that both his mother and our befriendee's mother AND grandmother, were both fantastic at the Bruges tradition of lacemaking!

At the end of July, Ian Scott Wallace joined to teach us all about the history of Romans in Britain. Jennifer also taught us all about Mormonism including its connection to her husband's 5th cousin removed! 

We’ve got in touch with our artistic side with some drawing (some with the opposite hand, which was a bit of a challenge!) In one session Berla came along to chill us all out with some mindfulness colouring. Everyone was in a state of zen! 

We’ve also had the pleasure of enjoying some absolutely wonderful musical performances! 

It’s definitely been a summer to remember.
