Aviva Community Fund: Net Zero and Climate Awareness

The No.1 Befriending Agency is thrilled to be selected by the Aviva Community Fund this year. This year's crowdfunding campaign is titled “Net Zero and Climate Awareness” and is targeted toward improving our services while taking climate action in the community. 

We are striving to develop multiple befriending opportunities and events at The No.1 Befriending Agency through this project which promotes healthy climate behaviour. Through raising funds, we aim to provide materials for our gardening workshops, where we will learn about growing vegetables, plants, herbs, and flowers at home. Through this project, we aim to bring in guest speakers to discuss climate awareness topics and plan trips that will enhance our knowledge of the current climate status and learn about climate action in Scotland. 

The Net Zero and Climate Awareness project will also tie in with the agency’s values; Compassion, Courage, Happiness, Respect, and Independence. Our main goal is to enhance people’s confidence in the climate change discussion and to bring the community together while combating loneliness and isolation, promoting climate action, and positively impacting the community.
