Inspiring: A Match for Women and Intergenerational Relationships
This week, with the virtual world celebrating International Women's Day and National Intergenerational Week, we want to shine a light on two exceptional ladies: Zahrah and Sandra. They have formed a true and lasting friendship through No.1 and met two years ago this weekend (a fitting anniversary).
Over this time, their relationship has flourished, and the support and advice they offer each other has impacted Zahrah’s life for the better as she listens to, and learn from, Sandra. She also enjoys sharing her own experiences with the older lady and, despite the age difference, there are far more similarities which bring them together. This demonstrates the wonderful possibilities of inter-generational befriending.
Catching up with Zahrah last week, her VC was moved by her words, 'I know as soon as I hear Sandra’s voice, in the first few seconds of our phone call, I know how she's feeling. I just know her well enough'.
These two wonderful people show how great befriending partnerships - that bring peace and friendship to both sides of the match - can be strengthened by bridging generations.
